[Case Study Release] This is a case study on improvements in automotive parts packaging!
Successfully reduced costs by 100 million yen annually with "returnable packaging." The design of one tray per layer drastically reduced labor hours to one-third!
We will introduce a case study of improvements in automotive components by Seihoku Package Co., Ltd., which provides and conducts research and development on appropriate packaging specifications for domestic and overseas markets using 3D CAD. In conventional one-way packaging, material costs were incurred each time, and due to the three-part division of each layer, there were issues such as requiring a lot of work hours. After improvements with "returnable packaging," the design was changed to one tray per layer, drastically reducing the work hours to one-third. By switching to returnable materials, we successfully achieved an annual cost reduction of 100 million yen. At the export destination, all returnable materials are collected and reused, eliminating disposal costs. (Returnable materials are recyclable.) 【Issues】 Conventional specifications (one-way packaging) ■ Workability: A three-part division per layer requires a lot of work hours. ■ Cost: Material costs are incurred each time due to one-way packaging. ■ Waste: Disposal costs for one-way packaging are incurred each time at the export destination. *For more details, please feel free to contact us.
